ZAGREB, Dec 15: The Kuwait national handball team will depart Croatia for Tunisia on the 23rd of this month to begin the second phase of its external training camp. This intensive preparation aims to prepare the team for the 29th World Handball Championship, scheduled from January 14 to February 2 in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway. Kuwait will compete in Group Three alongside Qatar, Austria, and France.
During the Tunisian camp, Kuwait will face the Tunisian national team in two friendly matches, sharpening its skills and testing strategies ahead of the global event.
Faisal Saiwan, Director of National Teams, emphasized the current focus on physical conditioning and a mix of group and individual drills to boost endurance. "The Croatian camp is progressing smoothly, and the team’s physical condition is improving," Saiwan stated.
In Croatia, the team continues rigorous daily training under the guidance of Algerian coach Saeed Hijazi. The training sessions have been intensified, focusing on speed, explosive movements, and muscle endurance. Activities are divided into three segments to maximize performance.
He also commended the players for their dedication, closely following administrative and technical guidance. “Everyone is striving to secure their spot and ensure Kuwait makes an honorable return to the global stage after a 14-year absence,” he added.
The Kuwaiti delegation is determined to show strongly at this prestigious tournament, showcasing the team's readiness and resilience.
