KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: The Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait announced on Monday the specific circumstances under which students are allowed to freeze their study missions abroad. Key points from the announcement include:
Pre-Mission Freezes: Students cannot freeze scholarships before the mission begins. Postponement for up to one academic year is allowed if:
a) The student fails to obtain a travel visa.
b) Health reasons, supported by an approved medical report.
c) Other reasons deemed acceptable by the Ministry.
Post-Mission Freezes: Scholarships can be frozen after a recommendation from the Cultural Office and Ministry approval in cases such as:
Compelling circumstances require the student to leave the place of study.
Failure to obtain acceptance at a recommended university for reasons beyond the student’s control.
University refusal to allow repeating a failed year, with a maximum freeze of one year or two semesters.
