The Kuwait ice hockey team celebrates at the end of its match in China.

HARBIN, China, Feb 5: The Kuwaiti ice hockey team secured a dominant 10-3 victory over Singapore in the second round of the 9th Asian Winter Games "Harbin 2025", currently underway in China. This marks Kuwait’s first win in the tournament, placing it second in the group standings due to head-to-head results with Singapore, while Kyrgyzstan leads the group, and Bahrain sits in fourth place.

Ali Al-Marri, head of the Kuwaiti delegation, praised the team’s outstanding performance and complete control over the match, congratulating the players on their well-deserved win. He emphasized that Kuwait's participation in this major continental event is a source of pride, commending the ice hockey team’s strong showing.

Al-Marri also acknowledged the Kuwaiti curling team’s efforts, highlighting its impressive performance despite being newly formed and competing against experienced, internationally ranked teams. He expressed his hopes for further success for all Kuwaiti teams in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti curling team fell to Chinese Taipei 3-13 in its third Group 1 match, leaving it with three points after one win and two losses. The team had previously suffered a 3-12 defeat to Thailand.
