ABU DHABI, Jan 28, (KUNA): The Kuwait national hockey team has concluded its 12-day training camp in the UAE in preparation for the 9th Asian Winter Games, set to take place in Harbin, China.

The Kuwaiti delegation is set to compete in four disciplines at the Winter Games: hockey, speed skating, figure skating, and curling.

Speaking to KUNA, Fahaid Al-Ajmi, President of the Kuwait Winter Games Club and head of the delegation, emphasized the team's significant progress during the camp. The training included three friendly matches against professional Emirati teams to prepare for their opening game against Kyrgyzstan next Monday.

“The players underwent three daily training sessions to enhance their physical fitness and refine the technical and tactical strategies developed by the coaching staff,” Al-Ajmi noted. He highlighted the importance of this camp in fostering team chemistry, especially following the conclusion of the local league.

Al-Ajmi also shared that the other Kuwaiti teams participating in speed skating, figure skating, and curling had successfully wrapped up their training camps in Qatar, Switzerland, and Malaysia, respectively.

He expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee and the Public Authority for Sports, praising their support as a key factor in the club's development and success.
