KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: The Telecommunications Authority has implemented a new regulation to enhance user experience and reduce fraudulent financial communications. According to the regulation, all service providers and authorized public telecommunications networks must ensure to display of the caller's name for all incoming calls. This feature will be activated automatically on all devices without requiring users to adjust settings or incur additional fees.

Service providers are required to comply with the regulations by applying for approval from the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority before implementing the caller identification feature. They must configure their network settings and technical systems to display the caller's name according to international standards and protocols. Additionally, they must conduct tests to ensure the quality of the feature and obtain approval from the Authority before its operation.

The regulation, which came into effect on January 1, 2024, emphasizes the importance of ensuring the accuracy of the displayed caller's name and its compatibility with the user's identification identity.
