KUWAIT CITY, June 20 : Data from the Kuwaiti Central Bureau of Statistics revealed that consumer price indexes (inflation) increased by 3.17 percent in May on an annual basis. In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Bureau noted that the inflation rate in Kuwait also rose by 0.15 percent in May compared to April. This annual increase in inflation is primarily due to higher prices in key categories that influence the index, particularly food, clothing, and education. Specifically, the food and beverages index saw a 6.6 percent rise in May compared to the same month in 2023, while the clothing and apparel index increased by 5.6 percent annually. (KUNA)
