KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: The acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Football Association, Haif Al-Mutairi, met with Dr. Zaid Shanshol, the Advisor to the Iraqi Embassy in Kuwait, last Monday at the association's headquarters in Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for sports cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq shortly.
In a related development, the Governor of Basra, Ahmed Al-Eidani, stated, "We will reciprocate the treatment of our fans. If Kuwaiti authorities do not allow our fans to enter Kuwait, we will not permit Kuwaiti fans to enter Iraq." He also noted that Iraq had welcomed Kuwaiti fans to attend and support their team during the "Gulf 25" tournament.
