PAM to mark World Day Against Trafficking in Persons with awareness event at Avenues Mall

Public Authority for Manpower to promote anti-trafficking measures on Global Awareness Day.

KUWAIT CITY, July 24: Aseel Al-Mazyad, the official spokesman for the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) and head of the permanent coordinating committee linking the Public Authority for Manpower, civil society institutions, and public benefit associations, reaffirmed Kuwait’s steadfast commitment to upholding the dignity and rights of expatriate workers.

During an event held at The Avenues Mall yesterday morning regarding the World Day to Combat Human Trafficking and Smuggling of Migrants, Al-Mazyad highlighted the country’s dedication to combating human trafficking and the smuggling of migrants. She said, “The Public Authority for Manpower plays a crucial role in handling labor affairs. It operates a shelter center for expatriate workers and enforces laws aimed at combating human trafficking. We are actively working to safeguard the rights of all workers and prevent any violations.”

Al-Mazyad highlighted the ongoing efforts in this regard through the coordination of a permanent committee that links PAM with civil society institutions and public benefit associations. She said, “Human trafficking and smuggling of migrants is a crime that requires concerted efforts and comprehensive coordination between government agencies, civil society organizations, and regional, Arab, and international organizations.” Al-Mazyad praised the efforts exerted by the State of Kuwait in combating this crime. She called for more commitment to implementing law No. 91/2013 regarding combating human trafficking and smuggling of migrants.
