KUWAIT CITY, April 19: In line with its ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law, the Ministry of Interior conducted a wide-ranging security and traffic campaign in the Salmiya area on Friday. The operation was led and supervised by the Acting Prime Minister, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.
The campaign saw the active participation of all field departments within the Traffic and Operations Sector, with notable contributions from the General Traffic Department, the General Emergency Police Department, the Central Operations Department, and the Special Security Sector. The women’s police unit also played a significant role, enhancing the effectiveness of the campaign and contributing to the achievement of its security goals.
The operation resulted in several key outcomes:
* 2,841 traffic violations issued
* 15 individuals arrested for violating residency and labor laws
* 5 individuals apprehended for absconding
* 17 individuals arrested on outstanding arrest warrants
* 3 individuals detained for no valid IDs
* 9 vehicles and motorcycles seized for pending legal cases
* 3 motorcycles impounded for traffic violations
* 2 individuals were arrested — one for possession of alcohol and another for criminal enforcement
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to continuing such campaigns across all regions of the country to identify and apprehend lawbreakers, stressing the importance of law enforcement visibility and presence.
