KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: Fahid Al-Ajmi, President of the Winter Games Club, announced that the International Ice Hockey Federation has officially approved Kuwait’s participation in the upcoming World Ice Hockey Championship. Al-Ajmi stated that Kuwait's national team will compete in the fourth tier, which will feature six Asian teams: Iran, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, and Armenia, with Armenia hosting the event in April 2025.

He highlighted that this decision, made during the International Ice Hockey Federation’s Congress in Greece, represents a significant milestone for the teams in this division. The number of teams in the fourth tier has been increased from four to six, which is expected to enhance the level of competition and provide players with valuable experience. Al-Ajmi also announced that the Bahrain Ice Hockey Club has been granted full membership in the Federation, congratulating Bahrain on this achievement, which will contribute to further growth of the sport in the region.
