Kuwait judiciary, counterparts in joint bid to curb cash crimes

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: The President of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, Counselor Dr. Adel Boresli, held discussions with notable judicial figures, including the Vice President of the Supreme Court of Indonesia, Professor Sonar To, Jordanian Court of Cassation Judge Nahar Al- Ghazou and High Criminal Court Judge Ali Al-Jaloudi, reports Al- Seyassah daily. These meetings, held separately, focused on judicial and legal matters of mutual interest.

The Ministry of Justice stated that the talks occurred on the sidelines of a regional workshop organized by the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies. The workshop, titled ‘New Developments in Combating Money Laundering in National and Comparative Law,’ will continue over two days, bringing together experts and officials to address critical issues in financial crime prevention. The discussions also highlighted the strong fraternal ties between Kuwait and the participating countries, exploring ways to deepen cooperation in judicial matters. The meetings aimed to strengthen and enrich collaborative efforts in the judiciary. The talks were attended by prominent Kuwaiti judicial leaders, including the Vice President of the Court of Cassation, Counselor Saleh Al-Raqdan, the President of the Court of Appeal, Counselor Muhammad Al-Rifai and the President of the Court of First Instance, Counselor Abdul Latif Al-Thunayan.
