AMMAN, Sept 1: Kuwait's junior handball team is wrapping up its final training session today for the 10th Asian Championship, which doubles as the 2025 World Cup qualifiers, set to begin tomorrow in Amman, Jordan. The tournament draw has placed the "Blues" in Group Four, alongside China, Iran, and Chinese Taipei.

To prepare for the Asian Championships, the team held an external training camp in Slovenia, where it played a series of friendly matches against teams from Italy, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Saudi Arabia. After returning to Kuwait, it faced the South Korean team in two additional friendly matches at the Martyr Fahad Al-Ahmad Center Hall in Al-Daiya.

The junior handball team arrived in Jordan yesterday, led by a delegation headed by Shabib Al-Hajri, Vice President of the Kuwait Handball Federation. Assistant coach Hussein Habib emphasized that the Federation meticulously planned the team's early preparation, in collaboration with the coaching staff, national teams, and the administrative and technical teams of the junior squad. He added, "Our goal is to bring honor to Kuwaiti handball in the Asian Championship and proudly raise our country's flag among the top teams in the continent."
