KUWAIT CITY, Jan 12: The Ministry of Higher Education announced on Saturday that it is closely monitoring the safety and well-being of Kuwaiti students studying in the United States, particularly those in Los Angeles and its surrounding areas. This effort is being carried out in ongoing coordination with the city's cultural office.
In a statement, the ministry explained that this follow-up is being conducted under the direct instructions of Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in light of the recent incidents involving strong winds and fires in the region. The ministry assured the public that all students are safe and have not encountered any major difficulties during these events, noting that most universities are located far from the fire zones.
The ministry emphasized its continuous communication with cultural offices to ensure students' safety, offering guidance and support through open communication channels available around the clock. It urged students to adhere to the instructions issued by local authorities in Los Angeles, avoid areas affected by the fires and strong winds, and follow safety procedures recommended by U.S. authorities.
Additionally, the ministry encouraged students to contact the Cultural Office or the Kuwaiti Consulate in Los Angeles if they require assistance. The contact numbers are: +1 (310) 746-4789 for the Cultural Office and +1 (310) 556-0300 for the Kuwaiti Consulate.
The Ministry of Higher Education reiterated its commitment to the safety of Kuwaiti students and stressed that ensuring their security remains a top priority. It will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide all necessary support to ensure students' safety and well-being.
