the Public Authority for Manpower and the Kuwait Society for Human Rights launch the national project to protect workers’ rights in Kuwait.

KUWAIT CITY, June 2: The Public Authority for Manpower today launched the "Together 4" national project aimed at enhancing the protection of workers' rights in Kuwait. The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Kuwaiti Society for Human Rights, seeks to bolster workers' rights, educate them on their entitlements under labor laws, and provide necessary legal support.

In a press statement, Acting Director General of the Authority, Marzouq Al-Otaibi, emphasized the project's goal to not only support workers but also to motivate society to back their cases. Al-Otaibi highlighted that the initiative would help improve Kuwait’s ranking in international human rights and anti-human trafficking indicators and reports.

"This project stems from a memorandum of understanding with the Kuwait Society for Human Rights, aiming to enhance human rights concepts in general and labor rights in particular," Al-Otaibi stated. He added that the initiative aligns with international agreements ratified by Kuwait, focusing on research and studies related to labor abuses and mechanisms for addressing them.

The project also promotes cooperation between state institutions and public benefit associations, spreading human rights awareness within society through all legally available means. It includes establishing courses and training programs on Kuwaiti labor laws, particularly concerning the private sector and domestic workers.

Al-Otaibi noted the role of the permanent committee responsible for coordinating efforts between the "manpower" authority, civil society institutions, and public benefit associations in overseeing the "Together 4" project. This committee will manage various activities and services offered in multiple languages to ensure comprehensive protection of workers' rights.
