KUWAIT CITY, Dec 11: The Winter Games Club announced its approval of establishing both external and internal training camps for national team players across five sports, as part of their preparations for the Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, scheduled for February.

Sheikh Jaber Bandar Al-Sabah, the club's honorary president, stated to KUNA that the camps aim to enhance the technical skills of the players and prepare them for one of the largest continental winter sports competitions.

He highlighted that Kuwait is fielding its largest-ever delegation in the games, competing in ice hockey, figure skating, ice skating, speed skating, and curling.

Sheikh Jaber revealed that the external training camp will commence on January 10 in Turkey and will run for 15 days. In the meantime, players continue to train at the club’s facilities and participate in the local league matches, which feature five competing teams.

He emphasized that the preparation plan, developed under the leadership of the club’s board of directors headed by Fahid Al-Ajmi, reflects their commitment to ensuring optimal readiness for the competition. Sheikh Jaber also extended his gratitude to the Kuwait Olympic Committee and the Public Authority for Sports for their ongoing support.
