KUWAIT CITY, July 25: The Kuwait Marine Sports Club, chaired by Major General Fahad Al-Fahad, has announced the 33rd Annual Pearl Diving Festival, a commemoration voyage, set to take place from August 10 to 15. The event will be organized by the club’s Marine Heritage Committee and will feature four diving ships donated by the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad.

Expressing the club's gratitude, Al-Fahad highlighted the generous support of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad for this event. He stated, "The diving trip resonates with the directives of our leaders, aiming to foster national unity among the youth and uphold the values and traditions established by their forefathers. This Festival also emphasizes the deep-rooted Gulf ties shared by our people, past and present."

The Festival marks the first under the patronage of His Highness Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad, continuing a legacy of high patronage initiated by the late Amir His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad, and further supported by the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad and the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad.

Participation in the Pearl Diving Festival is exclusive to Kuwaiti youth aged 15 to 19. Younger participants may join if accompanied by a first-degree relative who is a participating captain. Registration is open from today until Sunday, with forms available at the club. Details on terms and conditions can be found on the Marine Heritage Committee’s Instagram page.

The schedule for the Festival includes the “Day of Dasha” on Saturday, August 10, when ships will depart from the club’s coast in Salmiya at 8:30 am. A press and media visit is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13, from 8 am to 3 pm. The event will conclude with the “Day of Return” on Thursday, August 15, at 5 pm, followed by a celebratory closing ceremony.

The Kuwait Marine Sports Club looks forward to another successful and unifying event, celebrating the nation's maritime heritage and the enduring spirit of its people.
