Kuwait martyrs immortalized in new airport mural at Terminal 1

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 6 : Assistant Undersecretary at the Amiri Diwan and Director General of the Martyrs and Their Families Honoring Office, Salah Al-Aufan, inaugurated the Kuwait Martyrs Mural at Terminal 1 of Kuwait International Airport on Sunday. In a press statement, Al-Aufan noted that the mural features images of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, along with the names and pictures of all Kuwaiti martyrs and those from 14 other nationalities who sacrificed their lives for Kuwait.

He emphasized the Martyrs Office’s commitment to honoring Kuwaiti martyrs in significant venues both domestically and internationally, underscoring the importance of martyrdom in fostering national pride within society. The mural’s location at the international airport was chosen as it represents the true face of Kuwait, welcoming visitors from around the globe. Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi, Acting Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, echoed Al-Aufan’s sentiments, stating that the mural serves to honor the martyrs who gave their lives for the nation, preserving their memory and heroism. He remarked that without these sacrifices, Kuwait would not have achieved its freedom and independence, praying for the martyrs’ eternal rest in paradise.(KUNA)
