Kuwait Medical Institute's exam season kicks off with strong international presence

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 17: Dr. Kifaya Abdul Malik, Supervisor of the Examination Office at the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations, announced the commencement of this year’s theoretical and practical examination season. The examinations, which span six weeks from September to October, are part of the institute’s ongoing efforts to enhance the medical and training skills of specialized doctors.

Dr. Abdul Malik revealed that a total of 367 doctors will participate in this year’s exams, which are spread across 26 training programs and divided into 53 separate exams. These programs cover basic medical specialties as well as advanced fellowship programs. Notably, 22 of these specialty programs are part of an agreement with the Royal College of Canada, while the family medicine program follows a special agreement with the Royal College of Britain.

This year’s examination season also features significant international involvement, with 122 visiting consultant doctors from abroad participating. This international participation highlights the institute’s commitment to fostering global cooperation with leading medical institutions and upholding high standards of quality and excellence.

Dr. Abdul Malik emphasized the importance of this collaboration with prestigious international colleges, noting that it enhances the efficiency of doctors and improves the institute’s academic and practical output. This, in turn, positively impacts the quality of health services provided in Kuwait.

Dr. Kifaya Abdul Malik extended her gratitude to everyone involved in the examination season, both within and outside the institute, and wished all participating doctors success in their academic and professional endeavors.
