KUWAIT CITY, Jan 24: The Ministry of Interior of Kuwait, under the supervision of His Excellency Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, carried out a major security operation in the Al-Shaab area on January 23, 2025.

The campaign targeted traffic violations, drug offenses, and various legal infractions to enhance public safety. Authorities issued 1,324 traffic violation citations, arrested two individuals for drug possession, and detained eight individuals with outstanding warrants. Additionally, one person was apprehended for residency law violations, two for lacking identity proof, and three for absconding cases.

The operation also resulted in the seizure of three vehicles linked to legal cases and the impoundment of five vehicles and motorcycles for traffic violations. A juvenile case was referred to the Juvenile Investigations Department for further action.

The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to conducting regular security and traffic campaigns to maintain law and order across Kuwait, emphasizing strict measures against violators, outlaws, and individuals breaking residency and work laws. Citizens and residents are encouraged to report illegal activities via the emergency number 112.
