Kuwait Moves to Revoke Citizenship from 5,838 Individuals Over Violations

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 16: Kuwait is set to present 5,838 cases to the Council of Ministers for the withdrawal and loss of Kuwaiti citizenship. The cases include various violations under the Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. (15) of 1959 and its amendments.

The breakdown of the cases includes:

- 4 cases of dual nationality, in violation of Articles (10) and (11) of the Nationality Law.
- 128 cases of fraud and false statements (forgery), as well as those who may have obtained citizenship through fraudulent dependency, under Article (21 bis A).
- 5,706 cases under Article 8 from 54 different countries, per Article (13, Paragraph 4) of the Nationality Law.

These cases are being prepared for review and potential action by the Council of Ministers, in line with the country's legal framework for maintaining the integrity of Kuwaiti citizenship.
