KUWAIT CITY, June 4: The Kuwait Municipality has confirmed the ongoing implementation of field inspection campaigns targeting residential and commercial properties under construction. These inspections aim to ensure compliance with regulations, systems, and licenses.

Recently, the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality initiated a series of monitoring campaigns focusing on private housing areas. The primary objective is to identify buildings that violate building regulations and to guide property owners through the "House of a Life Without Violations" campaign.

Engineer Muhammad Al-Marri, the building supervisor for Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality, stated that under the direction of Engineer Saud Al-Dabbous, Director General of the Kuwait Municipality, the "House of Life Without Violations" campaign was launched across all governorates in Kuwait. This campaign focuses on several key aspects: raising awareness among citizens, monitoring violations, issuing warnings, and initiating legal action against violators.

Al-Marri emphasized the shared responsibility of plot owners, engineering offices, and contractors throughout the construction process. He highlighted that the engineering office supervising the project and the contractor bear the greatest responsibility in cases of violations. It is crucial for all parties involved to adhere to the approved licenses and construction plans.

The campaign has revealed that the most common violations involve exceeding the approved construction rate. Such violations result in the suspension of construction activities, with reports being directed to the legal department for further action.

Before launching this campaign, the municipality undertook extensive efforts to educate citizens about the importance of adhering to building regulations and approved licenses to avoid delays in their projects.

Mater Al-Marabi, Acting Head of the Violations Department for Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Municipality, informed KUNA that over 130 properties have been identified for violations since the beginning of the year. Property owners have been alerted, and reports have been filed for further action.

The recent campaign focused on properties in the Funaitees area, identifying several violations, including unauthorized additional floors. Construction in these properties has been halted, and warnings issued to property owners to correct the violations.

Al-Marabi stated that the auditing and violations follow-up management team conducts regular field campaigns to monitor compliance and alert property owners about violations. The campaign aims to educate citizens on the importance of adhering to regulations, ensuring security and safety in construction, and maintaining conformity with licenses issued by the Kuwait Municipality. The initiative also stresses the importance of respecting designated building spaces and avoiding encroachment on state property or neighboring areas.
