Kuwait Municipality rejects Indian school’s request for relocation

KUWAIT CITY, July 3: The Environmental Affairs Committee at the Municipal Council, headed by Alia Al-Farsi, will hold its second meeting for the third round on Thursday to discuss the following:
■ Two proposals submitted by council member Architect Sherifa Al-Shalfan to maintain the cleanliness of the marine environment and the aerobic composting project,
■ Letter of the Health Ministry regarding the sanitary control of landfills,
■ Letter of Kuwait Green Wall Society on its cooperation with the Municipal Council,
■ Response of the executive branch (Kuwait Municipality) to the question of Al-Farsi about the treatment of municipal solid waste and construction waste,
■ Approval of the minutes of the first workshop of the Environmental Affairs Committee for the second round held on Sept 21, 2023.

In a related development, the Municipality has informed the council about its disapproval of the request of the Indian Public School to relocate its headquarters from Salmiya, Block 12, Plot 11 to Block 10, Plot 28 as the request violates the building regulations. The Alseyassah / Arab Times obtained a copy of the technical opinion of the transaction approved by the Director General of the Municipality Saud Al-Dabbous, stating that Plot 28 is classified for use as investment housing. It measures 2,090 square meters and it is located in Block 10, Salmiya.
