KUWAIT CITY, April 9: The Board of Directors of the Kuwait Olympic Committee has greenlit the Kuwaiti delegation set to partake in the inaugural Gulf Youth Games hosted by the United Arab Emirates from April 16 to May 2. The delegation will be led by Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Al-Nawaf, Vice President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee. The administrative team includes Mohammed Al-Khalfan, Director General of the Olympic Committee, along with committee members Sheikh Jaber Thamer Al-Jaber, Ali Al-Marri, and Fatima Hayat. Mohammed Al-Saadi will serve as the technical director. Additionally, 210 players will compete across 19 sports, accompanied by administrative and media representatives.

Kuwait's participation will kick off with football, followed by competitions in handball, volleyball, 3x3 basketball, boxing, taekwondo, jiu-jitsu, and table tennis, among others. The tournament will feature 3,500 athletes from Gulf Cooperation Council countries competing in 25 different individual and team sports.

The distribution of gaming competitions across various emirates in the United Arab Emirates has been revealed. Abu Dhabi will host events including football, judo, and swimming, while Dubai will oversee athletics and other sports. Other emirates will also host various competitions, highlighting the diversity of the event.

Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Al-Nawaf expressed gratitude to the Kuwait Olympic Committee for entrusting him to lead the delegation, emphasizing Kuwait's commitment to participating in Gulf sporting events and fostering cooperation among Gulf countries. He underscored the significance of the tournament for Kuwaiti youth, expressing hope for their success and thanking Kuwait's leadership for their unwavering support of sports in the country.
