KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: The Kuwait Olympic team is wrapping up its training today at the Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium, located at Al-Nasr Club. This rigorous training is in preparation for their upcoming match against the Timor-Leste national team, scheduled for tomorrow. The match marks the first round of Group Six in the AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers, set to be hosted by Kuwait from September 6 to 12. Group Six also features the teams of Iraq and Macau.

Portuguese Olympic coach Emilio Peixe is meticulously fine-tuning his squad as they gear up for the qualifiers, which will ultimately determine the participants in next year's finals hosted by Qatar. The Kuwaiti team, led by Bixi, is eager to make a strong impression in their inaugural encounter against East Timor. Securing a victory is their goal, providing a boost of motivation as they progress through the qualifiers.

In a show of support, Ahmed Oqla, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Football Association for Financial Affairs, and Jamal Al-Otaibi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Football Association, attended a recent training session of the Kuwait Olympic team at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. Oqla encouraged the players to give their all and deliver exceptional performances during the qualifiers, with the ultimate aim of securing a ticket to the finals. He expressed confidence in the players' abilities to fulfill their ambitions and attain the desired results.

Additionally, the Football Association held a coordination meeting to discuss Kuwait's hosting of the AFC U-23 qualifiers. The meeting, attended by representatives from various ministries and agencies participating in the qualifiers, covered the final preparations for hosting matches at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium and the Kuwait Club Stadium. These venues will host a total of six matches on September 6, 9, and 12.

Later today, at twelve o'clock, a press conference will take place at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. This conference serves as an introduction to the teams of Kuwait, Iraq, Macau, and East Timor, who are participating in the sixth group competitions of the AFC U-23 Cup qualifiers. Preceding the press conference, a technical meeting is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. to address all technical aspects related to the four participating teams.
