CAIRO, June 10: The Egyptian capital witnessed on Friday launch of the fourth edition of the Pharaohs International Gymnastics Championship with participation of 28 countries including Kuwait. Inaugural ceremony at Cairo International Stadium was attended BY Fahad Al-Sola, the head of the Kuwaiti and Arab gymnastics federations, in addition to local, foreign and African sports leaders.

In remarks to KUNA, Al-Sola expressed hope that the Kuwaiti female athletes would make good scores in the competitions due to conclude Sunday. He said that the Kuwaiti player Talia Bahbahani, aged under ten, had already come third in one of the held competitions. Other participating Kuwaiti players are Maha Al-Sagr, competing in the general group, Nour Al-Rezaihan, in the juniors, Sara Al-Bannai, Raya Al-Gassar, Fozia Abdulkarim, Nabila Al-Kharafi, Lamar Al-Fodari, Amina Al-Kandari, Talia Bahbahani and Lian Bahbahani in the adults’ category.

President of the International Gymnastics Federation Morinari Watanabe expressed Friday admiration of the level of teams, including the Kuwaiti team, participating in the Egypt-hosted 4th Pharaohs International Gymnastics Championship. In statements to KUNA on the sidelines of the opening ceremony, Watanabe wished success for all the participating athletes and the tournament organizers. He noted that the Arab and African countries have made great stride in the gymnastic sport in the past years. The fourth edition of the Pharaohs International Gymnastics Championship kicked off earlier today with participation of 28 countries including Kuwait. Kuwait is presented in the international event with ten female athletes. The inaugural ceremony at Cairo International Stadium was attended by Fahad Al-Sola, the head of the Kuwaiti and Arab gymnastics federations, in addition to local, foreign and African sports leaders.
