KUWAIT CITY, Nov 14, (Agencies): Kuwait, represented by the General Manager of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Dr. Fatima Al-Salem, is participating in the second edition of the World Congress for Media 2023 in Abu Dhabi. The congress, themed "Shaping the Future of the Media Sector," commences today and includes experts and specialists from 172 countries, featuring an international conference, 36 main sessions, and various workshops.

Dr. Al-Salem, representing Minister of Information Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, takes part in the congress, including a dialogue session titled "The Future Now: Using Artificial Intelligence in Media."

The sessions cover a range of topics in visual, written, and auditory media, with participation from global influencers, academics, radio and television union representatives, broadcast companies, and production entities worldwide. The congress, spanning three days at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, covers four pillars: "Sustainability," "Innovation and the Latest Technologies in the Media," "Sports Media," and "Youth, Education, and the Future of Media."

It addresses the development of media industry indicators, forecasting its future and challenges regionally and globally. The World Media Congress hosts a specialized conference that introduces key topics in the media sector, with high-level experts from around the world. Discussions focus on digital communications, artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and innovative solutions in the media sector.

Sessions cover diverse topics, including journalism, radio, television, the internet, and social media, and exploring competitive prospects in each field to enhance the world's ability to continue and evolve, facilitating global business communications and reinventing the brand on the new global stage. As the media sector undergoes rapid changes, prompting companies to keep pace to ensure the highest levels of growth and prosperity, the World Media Congress serves as an ideal platform for companies to connect with a global elite of thought leaders in the sector. The organizing committee of the World Media Congress for Media 2023 has announced the launch of a new event consisting of four roundtables on global work and the challenges it faces. It focuses on developing media industry indicators and forecasting its future on both regional and global levels.

The first roundtable addresses international news agencies and discusses their role in disseminating news and information globally, examining the challenges they face in the age of technology, the spread of social media, and the proliferation of fake news. Participants explore the increasing pressures on agencies to adapt to the evolving global landscape while maintaining high accuracy, neutrality, and credibility. They also delve into strategies for international relations to address challenges and the best ways for news agencies and their unions and associations to collaborate effectively in addressing their common issues.

The second roundtable, titled "Radio and Television and New Perspectives," focuses on issues relevant to institutions operating in radio and television, including technological advancements, innovative and creative tools in delivering global messages, producing written and visual materials, artificial intelligence technologies, and the globalization of digital media, along with the challenges of financing radio and television broadcasting.

A third roundtable will be held under the theme "Broadcasting and Production: Challenges and Opportunities." It discusses the future of broadcasting and production companies in light of technological advancements, opportunities for cooperation with multinational partners, current challenges facing the broadcast and production industry, and the impact of the contributions of these companies on academic research. It also reconsiders research methodologies for digital media studies, multidisciplinary curricula, and the integration of global studies with other sciences.
