Kuwait Plans to Send Sri Lankan Prisoners Home to Serve Remaining Sentences

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 24: The General Administration of Correctional Institutions has announced plans to transfer 32 Sri Lankan prisoners serving sentences in Kuwait’s Central Prison. These individuals, convicted of various crimes, will be sent to Sri Lanka to complete the remainder of their sentences under the prisoner exchange agreement between Kuwait and Sri Lanka. According to informed security sources, the operation will be coordinated with the Kuwaiti Air Force. The prisoners will be transported on a military aircraft, escorted by a security team, and handed over to Sri Lankan authorities upon arrival. This decision is part of ongoing efforts to reduce overcrowding in the Central Prison and ensure the smooth administration of justice
