Kuwait plans Visa 20 to Visa 18 transfers for limited period

KUWAIT CITY, June 26: Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Interior Minister, and Chairman of the Public Authority for Manpower, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah headed the first meeting of the year for 2024/2025.
In a press statement, the General Administration of Security Relations and Media at the Ministry of Interior said that the meeting was for approving the final accounts of the Public Authority for Manpower, for the fiscal year 2023/2024.
The meeting came with the effort to enhance and develop policies that will serve various sectors, and to achieve balance and integration in the workforce.
The statement also said that the Public Authority for Manpower was assigned to prepare a draft to temporarily lift the ban on transferring domestic workers (Visa 20) to work in the private sector (Visa 18) for two months.
This step comes accompanied by conditions that guarantee the organization of the process and the achievement of a balance between supply and demand in the labor market. (KUNA)
