KUWAIT CITY, Jan 11: The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait announced the arrest of a fugitive convicted of forging Kuwaiti citizenship, who had evaded capture since 2021. The operation, carried out by the General Department for the Implementation of Judgments and various security units in Ahmadi and Jahra, took place early Saturday morning, January 11, 2025.
The accused, whose citizenship was revoked in 2024 under Article 21 of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law, was also linked to 64 other individuals who acquired citizenship fraudulently. He had been receiving support from a former National Assembly member, which delayed his arrest.
The fugitive was found hiding on his farm in Al Wafra, where he had constructed a secret passageway from his bedroom to a manhole outside the property. During the raid, he attempted to escape by hiding in a workshop on the farm but was apprehended and referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing violators and safeguarding national security, urging the public to report any violations to maintain societal stability.
