KUWAIT CITY, Jan 30: In a crackdown on illegal activities, security officers from Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh police station arrested an expatriate for selling spoiled food and cleaning materials in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. The arrest was made during a routine patrol as part of an ongoing security operation to enforce the law, maintain public safety, and apprehend violators and wanted individuals.
According to a security source, officers patrolled the area early in the morning when they noticed a man sitting in an open space with a makeshift setup, displaying various food items and cleaning materials for sale. The officers found the scene suspicious and approached the vendor for questioning. However, upon noticing the police patrol, the man attempted to flee, prompting the officers to chase him down and arrest him.
Upon further investigation, authorities identified the suspect as an Asian national. A thorough inspection of the items he was selling revealed that the food products were expired and unfit for consumption, while the cleaning materials posed potential health risks. The suspect was taken into custody, and both the illegal goods and his details were documented.
Following his arrest, the suspect and the confiscated items were handed over to the General Department of Residence Affairs Investigations for further legal proceedings. Authorities have confirmed that preparations are underway for his deportation from the country.
This incident is part of ongoing efforts by the Kuwaiti security forces to crack down on illegal trade, prevent public health hazards, and enforce laws regulating business activities. Officials have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that may threaten public safety.
