KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: The Kuwait Ports Authority has issued an administrative circular concerning the verification of academic certificates for both citizen and resident employees.
The Authority emphasized its commitment to maintaining integrity and fairness among employees. This directive follows the Council of Ministers' guidelines on evaluating post-secondary educational certificates obtained from outside Kuwait and the decision by the Director General of the Authority, Sheikh Khaled Salem Al-Sabah, to form a team for this purpose.
The circular requests that all employees affiliated with the Authority, who have acquired post-secondary qualifications—such as diplomas, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees from abroad since January 1, 2000—submit a photocopy of their academic qualifications along with a certified copy of the equivalency certificate issued by the "Higher Education" authority. This equivalency certificate must be dated after January 1, 2024. Employees are required to use the QRCODE provided in the decision to access and complete the relevant form for document submission.
Employees should send these documents via their official institutional email. If an equivalency certificate is not current, employees must take the necessary steps to obtain it and provide documentation indicating that equivalency procedures are underway. Compliance with this circular is mandatory, with a deadline of three weeks from the issuance date to avoid potential legal consequences.
