KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: The Kuwait national basketball team began training under new Serbian head coach Oliver Kostic, gearing up for a friendly match against the Saudi national team scheduled for next week.

Training took place at the Federation Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Halls Complex, attended by Federation Vice President Mohsen Al-Sahmi and National Teams Director Mishaal Mohammed.

The Federation officially signed Kostic last month, appointing him to lead the team through an important period of competition. His first task will be to build a roster that combines young talent with seasoned players to deliver high-level performances in upcoming tournaments.

The Federation aims to prepare the team in the best possible way to achieve strong results, showcase the game’s growth internationally, and make a lasting impact in various tournaments. This approach includes introducing young players to the national team, giving them opportunities to prove themselves and contribute to the team’s future success.

In other news, in the Under-15 Basketball League, Al-Arabi defeated Burgan 70-27, while Al-Qurain triumphed over Kuwait Club 82-69.
