Kuwait readies security for Ramadan, Eid rush

KUWAIT CITY, March 18: The Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah held a meeting with the assistant undersecretaries of the Ministry of Interior and several senior security officials, in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef praised the efforts of the ministry’s sectors in enhancing security performance and upholding national security. He affirmed the importance of intensifying security and traffic efforts to ensure the comfort of citizens and residents, and providing a safe environment that facilitates worship, shopping, and smooth transportation. Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef stressed the need to deal with any security or traffic violations firmly and take the necessary measures to maintain public safety. He reviewed the prominent aspects of the work plans, as well as the security and traffic presence across the governorates and regions. He also assessed the Ministry of Interior’s preparations for the last ten days of Ramadan and the Eid Al-Fitr holidays. Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef received detailed reports on the security and traffic plans aimed to secure mosques and regulate traffic in vital areas that experienced high traffic density during this period.

He directed the need to strengthen cooperation and coordination between various security departments to ensure the effective implementation of the established plans and to deal promptly with any developments that might impact security and public order.
