Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reiterated the State of Kuwait's steadfast commitment to humanitarian support and its dedication to assisting people worldwide in need. On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, which is observed today, Monday, the Ministry expressed its gratitude to all individuals working in the humanitarian sector.

In a press statement, the Ministry emphasized Kuwait's deep respect for those who have lost their lives or sustained injuries while working in the humanitarian field. It highlighted Security Council Resolution No. (2730) of 2024, which calls for the protection of humanitarian workers and all United Nations personnel in the execution of their duties.

The Ministry underlined its commitment to ensuring protection and safe working conditions for humanitarian workers, especially in light of the unprecedented levels of violence they have faced. It affirmed that Kuwait's humanitarian efforts are conducted without any political motivations or discrimination, reflecting a longstanding tradition upheld by the country and its leadership.

Kuwait's approach, guided by the legacy of His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah—known as the Leader of Humanitarian Work—is to persist in diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, address challenges, and support those in need during crises. This has established the State of Kuwait as a prominent hub for humanitarian work.
