Kuwait records over 48,000 traffic violations in a week

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 26: The General Traffic Department’s weekly statistics revealed a total of 48,563 traffic violations issued across the country. Additionally, authorities impounded 78 vehicles and 94 motorcycles, and referred 63 individuals to the traffic police. Among those cited, 30 juveniles were referred to the Public Prosecution for driving without a valid license.

Further actions included the seizure of 43 vehicles, the apprehension of 26 wanted individuals, and the detention of two individuals in an abnormal condition, as well as two individuals suspected of possessing narcotics. These suspects were subsequently referred to the General Department for Combating Narcotics.

During this period, the department also reported handling 1,658 traffic accidents, which resulted in 265 injuries.
