KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3: A recent amendment in Kuwait’s birth and death registration law has reduced the reporting threshold for stillborn infants from 28 to 24 weeks of gestation. The Decree-Law No. 107 of 2024, published in the Official Gazette, modifies Article 7 of Law No. 36 of 1969, aligning Kuwait with neighboring countries and acknowledging advancements in neonatal care. This amendment requires reporting deceased persons, including stillborn infants after 24 weeks, to the relevant health office within 48 hours of birth or death.
