KUWAIT CITY, Jan 5: The official newspaper "Kuwait Today" published the names of 2,876 individuals in its latest issue, including 13 men and 2,863 women.
Decree No. 221 of 2024 was issued to withdraw Kuwaiti citizenship from one person, as well as from anyone who had acquired it through affiliation. This decision was made in accordance with Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959, which governs the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its subsequent amendments. The decree was issued following the proposal of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and after receiving the approval of the Council of Ministers.
Decree No. 222 of 2024 also called for the withdrawal of Kuwaiti citizenship from 2,861 women and anyone who may have acquired it through dependency.
Decision No. 1512 of 2024 was issued to revoke the Kuwaiti citizenship certificate from 9 individuals, including 7 men and 2 women, and from those who had acquired it through dependency. This decision was based on Article (21 bis A) of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959, which pertains to the Kuwaiti Citizenship Law and its amendments.
Resolution No. 1537 of 2024 similarly ordered the withdrawal of Kuwaiti citizenship certificates from 5 individuals and anyone who had acquired citizenship through dependency, based on Article (21 bis A) of the same law.
