KUWAIT CITY, July 6: In a series of governmental actions, Kuwait has revoked citizenship from several individuals, citing various reasons including dependency and affiliation issues. Decree No. 113 of 2024 targeted a woman and those who acquired Kuwaiti citizenship through her due to dependency.
Additionally, Cabinet Resolution No. 642 withdrew citizenship certificates from two persons and their dependents. Similarly, Decision No. 643 revoked citizenship from an individual and their affiliates. Decision No. 644 extended this measure to five individuals and their affiliated dependents.
According to sources from the Supreme Committee for Nationality Investigation, several cases are currently under review, with ongoing recommendations for further withdrawals of citizenship from individuals who acquired it through illegal means. The committee reassured the public that these cases are being handled strictly according to legal procedures to ensure fair outcomes for all involved.
These decisions, which took effect immediately upon issuance, reflect Kuwait's policies on citizenship and eligibility criteria.
