MANAMA, Oct 23: Faisal Abdullah Al-Maqseed, Chairman of the Kuwait School Sports Federation and Higher Education, expressed his hope that the athletes competing in the World School Games in Bahrain will secure top positions and win medals, contributing to the overall success of Kuwaiti sports.

Al-Maqseed made this statement upon his arrival in Manama, Bahrain, where the Kuwait School Sports Federation delegation is set to participate in the World School Games, held from October 23 to 31 under the patronage of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain.

He highlighted the federation's ambition to continue achieving success, building on the positive outcomes of its strategic plan, "Our Talents in Our Schools 2021-2026." Al-Maqseed noted that the federation has already seen results, including its participation in the Arab School Sports Championship in Cairo 2023.

Al-Maqseed also emphasized that participating in the Bahrain tournament reflects the federation's commitment to reviving school sports after a long hiatus. The federation’s five-year plan, structured in a “5/5” system, aims to develop local talent in the first five years and focus on international success in the subsequent five years through participation in Arab, Asian, and global competitions.

He affirmed that the federation has worked diligently with technical and administrative teams to ensure the players are fully prepared, hoping their success will benefit both education and sports in Kuwait. Al-Maqseed extended his wishes for the prosperity of the nation under the leadership of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
