CAIRO, Aug 28 (KUNA): The Kuwaiti swimming team extended its medal count to 26, adding seven more medals, on the final day of the Third Arab Age Group Aquatics Championships in Cairo. The new haul includes six bronze and one silver medal.

In the 15-16 age group, Mohammad Zbeid, Abdulwahab Al-Waheeb, Saud Al-Anzi, and Hassan Al-Seilik secured a silver medal in the 100x4 freestyle relay. Additionally, Saud Al-Anzi clinched a bronze medal in the 100m butterfly race for the same age group. In the 17-18 age group, Khaled Al-Otaibi won bronze in the 400m freestyle, while Abdullah Sultan took bronze in the 100m backstroke for the 13-14 age group. Abdullah Sultan, Hassan Zaid, Homoud Al-Homoud, and Meshari Al-Haqqan also earned bronze in the 100x4 freestyle relay for the 13-14 age group.

In diving, Fadehl Al-Abbas secured bronze in the 3m springboard for the 16-17 age group. He, along with Jasem Al-Qallaf, also earned bronze in the doubles 3m springboard event for the same age group. With these results, the Kuwaiti team’s total medal count stands at 26, comprising three gold, five silver, and 18 bronze medals. Faisal Abol-Hassan, head of the Kuwaiti team, expressed gratitude for the swimmers' remarkable achievements and acknowledged the support of Sheikh Khaled Al-Bader Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, President of the Kuwait Swimming Association.
