Kuwait sends first plane with 20 tons of humanitarian aid to Syria
The first Kuwaiti plane of the airlift takes off, carrying food and tents to our brothers in Syria.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: The first plane of the Kuwaiti airlift departed from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base on Monday, heading to Syria with 20 tons of food, tents, and blankets to assist the most vulnerable groups as part of the "Kuwait by Your Side" campaign.

In a press statement before the plane's departure, Ambassador Khaled Al-Mughamis, Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), emphasized that the flight was launched in response to the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, as part of Kuwait's ongoing humanitarian efforts in Syria.

Al-Mughamis stated that this relief plane, loaded with essential aid, symbolizes Kuwait's solidarity with Syria and its commitment to alleviating the suffering of those in need. He explained that the aid would be delivered to Syrian authorities, who will manage its distribution to the most affected communities.

This humanitarian initiative, he continued, is a continuation of Kuwait's longstanding role in global humanitarian assistance, particularly in Syria. The airlift aims to address shortages in supplies and provide essential resources to help the Syrian people endure their hardships.

Al-Mughamis expressed his gratitude to Kuwait’s political leadership and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Social Affairs, and Defense, especially the Kuwaiti Air Force, for their support and practical efforts in this relief operation. He reaffirmed that this aid is part of Kuwait’s broader commitment to humanitarian assistance through the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, which has been instrumental in providing aid to crisis-affected regions around the world.
