KUWAIT CITY, March 15, (KUNA): Sheikh Salman Al-Hamoud Al-Salman Al-Sabah Heritage Shooting Championship, organized by the Kuwait Shooting Club, concluded with the crowning of its winners.
Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah secured first place, followed by Eid Al-Waalan in second, and Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah again in third. Musaed Al-Najjar and Abdullah Al-Osaimi finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Speaking after the championship, the President of the Asian Shooting Federation and Honorary President of the Kuwait Shooting Sports Club, Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, highlighted the participation of General Assembly members in the event. He emphasized that the championship honours the legacy of Sheikh Salman Al-Hamoud Al-Salman Al-Sabah, whose contributions to the sport of shooting were instrumental in its development.
Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah noted that the tournament was a tribute to Sheikh Salman’s unwavering support for the sport and his pivotal role in establishing the shooting club. He also extended his gratitude to the club’s president and members for successfully organizing this Ramadan championship.
Kuwait Shooting Sports Club President Duaij Al-Otaibi echoed these sentiments, stating that the championship, held within the traditional rifle (Kharaza) shooting competitions, was conducted professionally with a strong focus on safety, featuring specialized trainers and fixed target shooting. He highlighted the event’s role in fostering community spirit during the holy month.
Al-Otaibi further announced that the club is now preparing for the prestigious His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah International Grand Shooting Championship. The event, set for next April, will welcome elite shooters from around the world, reinforcing Kuwait’s reputation as a key host for major shooting tournaments.
