ABU DHABI, July 8 : Kuwaiti teams competing in the UAE National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2023 have won five medals; two gold, one sliver and two bronze, in both youth and general categories. Qutaiba Al-Lughani and Abdulaziz Al-Sulaiteen won two gold medals, Abdullah Al-Ajlan got a silver medal, while two bronze medals went to Hamed Al-Ruwaih and Ali Buhamad. This has brought Kuwait's tally up to 14 medals since the championship kicked off at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi on Friday, with the participation of hundreds of athletes from clubs and academies across the world.

Speaking to KUNA, the team boss Mohammad Al-Sulaiten spoke highly of the performance and medal win of the Kuwaiti athletes as a "national accomplishment" following a thrilling and strong competition. He added that this achievement has capped the fervent effort, hard work and intensive training of the Kuwaiti national team. Organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF) in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro (AJP), the three-day championship featured thrilling competitions in the Kids, Infant, and Junior categories on the first day. On the second day, the Youth, Teen, and Masters divisions took center stage, while the third and final day will witness fierce matches between Amateurs and Professionals. (KUNA) --
