Kuwait Special Olympics and Marine Sports Club join forces for the 2024 sailing competition

DUBAI, Sept 29: The Kuwaiti Special Olympics athletes and the Marine Sports Club continue their training in Abu Dhabi, preparing for the 2024 Special Olympics Regional Sailing Competition for the Middle East and North Africa, which will take place from October 2-7 at the Dubai Sailing Club. Rehab Boursli, National Director of the Kuwaiti Special Olympics, expressed gratitude for the Marine Sports Club’s support in training and qualifying the athletes. She acknowledged the participation of the club’s players, Abdul Rahman Al-Kandari and Manaf Al-Wahib, as partners with the Special Olympics athletes in the competition. Additionally, Naif Al-Hada, the General Supervisor of the Sailing, Rowing, and Kayaking Committee, has been assigned to oversee the athletes' training.

Boursli commended the Marine Club’s management for its commitment to ensuring Kuwait's success in the competition. The club has generously opened its facilities and provided technical and administrative resources to train the athletes in Kuwait, nominating its champions and personnel to participate in both the training camp and the competition.

She extended her thanks to Major General Fahd Al-Fahd, Chairman of the Marine Club’s Board of Directors, and Secretary General Khaled Al-Foudari, for their unwavering support of Ambition Club and Special Olympics activities. Their dedication to expanding opportunities for people with disabilities in marine sports and providing them with comprehensive support was deeply appreciated.
