Kuwait squash team receives a hero’s welcome at the Kuwait International Airport.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: The Kuwait squash team received a warm welcome at Kuwait International Airport upon its return from the fifth West Asian Championship, held in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. The team celebrated a successful campaign, winning the gold medal in the team event and a silver medal in the singles competition.

The delegation was greeted by Federation President Walid Al-Sumaie, Vice President Khaled Al-Habib, and Secretary General Hamed Al-Omran. The team consisted of Ammar Al-Tamimi, Mohammed Al-Masoud, Athbi Hamad, and Jassim Al-Gharib, with Salem Fayez serving as coach and Board Member Adel Al-Gharib accompanying the delegation.

Competing against six teams, the Kuwaiti squad dominated the championship, reclaiming the title after not securing victories in the previous two tournaments.

Ahmed Al-Adwani, head of the delegation, expressed his joy at the team’s achievement and the warm reception they received in the VIP hall. He noted that the players were determined from the start to return home with the gold medal, emphasizing that they kept their promise to the board of directors and contributed to the national pride by playing the Kuwaiti anthem and raising the flag at the international event.
