Kuwait starts World Cup campaign on a losing note

ZAGREB, Jan 15,(KUNA): The 29th edition of the International Handball Federation (IHF) 2025 Men's World Championship began on Tuesday, with Austria defeating Kuwait 37-26 in the co-hosted tournament by Croatia, Denmark, and Norway. The championship features 32 participating countries and will run until February 2.

Despite the loss, the Kuwaiti team delivered an impressive performance, particularly in the first half, which ended with a close score of 18-16 in Austria's favor.

Kuwait is set to face France on Thursday. France comes into the match after a dominant 37-19 victory over Qatar in their opening game.
