Kuwait takes action against 34 private health facilities for ad rule violations
Kuwait Health Ministry enforces medical advertisement compliance, referring 34 private health facilities to the Medical Liability Authority for violations.

KUWAIT CITY, April 3: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi issued a decision on Wednesday to refer 34 private health facilities to the Medical Liability Authority for serious violations of medical advertisement regulations and controls.

In a press statement, the Ministry explained that the referral decision is part of its ongoing oversight of the health sector and its commitment to upholding the principles of the medical profession while ensuring the quality and safety of healthcare services. This move aligns with the provisions of Law No. (70) of 2020, which governs the practice of medicine and support professions.

The Ministry added that specialized inspection teams observed several advertisements during the holy month of Ramadan that promoted inaccurate information, violated professional standards, and contravened Ministerial Resolution No. (87) of 2023, which regulates medical advertisements in the private sector. Some of these advertisements even included indecent images, which the Ministry deemed a violation of public decency and unacceptable conduct, calling for accountability.

Additionally, the Ministry noted that some clinics, medical centers, laboratories, and dental centers failed to meet their professional and ethical responsibilities, leading to legal actions being taken against them.

The Ministry emphasized that any violation or breach of approved controls and regulations will be addressed immediately and without leniency, as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure a safe, healthy environment and enhance the efficiency and quality of medical services in the country, in accordance with the highest professional standards.
