KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: The Kuwait basketball team faces a crucial match at 7:30 PM against Bahrain in the semi-finals of the 17th Gulf Championship. Earlier, Saudi Arabia will take on Qatar in the other semi-final. The winners of both matches will advance to the final, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday.
In the third round of the preliminary stage, Qatar defeated Kuwait 76-72, while Bahrain narrowly beat Saudi Arabia 88-87. As a result, Bahrain topped the standings with five points, followed by Saudi Arabia in second due to their head-to-head record. Qatar placed third, and Kuwait finished fourth.
Meanwhile, Kuwait's national youth team was eliminated from the Asian Cup finals in the first round, following a 51-62 loss to India in its final Group Two match.
