KUWAIT CITY, Feb 8: Kuwaiti authorities are set to hold a meeting in the coming days to finalize the security plan for upcoming national celebrations, sources revealed. The plan will involve multiple sectors of the ministry to outline responsibilities, assess needs, and ensure smooth execution.
Key areas such as Khairan, Wafra, Kabd, Subiya, Jaber Bridge, Abdali Farms, and Arabian Gulf Street will be secured as part of the measures. Authorities have emphasized that marches on highways and any traffic obstruction will be strictly prohibited. Additionally, spraying water, foam, or similar substances will not be allowed to maintain order and preserve the festive spirit. Violators will face legal consequences, including vehicle towing, impoundment, and fines.
Officials noted that last year’s celebrations were marked by public cooperation, which helped maintain security and reduce incidents. They urged citizens and residents to enjoy the festivities while respecting the law.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a decision banning the sale and circulation of water pistols and water-filled balloons from December to March each year to prevent disruptions during the celebrations.
