Kuwait Set for Cool Days and Chilly Nights This Weekend

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 6: Kuwait's Meteorological Department (KMD) has forecasted cool weather during the day and cold to very cold conditions at night over the weekend, with chances of frost in agricultural and desert areas. The country is currently experiencing the effects of an extension of a high-pressure system, which is accompanied by a relatively cold air mass, leading to a drop in temperatures. This will be accompanied by northwesterly winds of light to moderate speed, occasionally becoming active along the coastal areas, according to the department's acting director, Dharar Al-Ali.

Today’s Weather (Thursday):

Daytime: Warm and partly cloudy, with southeasterly to northwesterly winds at speeds of 15 to 60 km/h. Winds may become active in coastal areas.

Temperatures: Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 24°C and 26°C.

Sea Conditions: Moderate to high waves, ranging between 4 and 7 feet.

Visibility: Horizontal visibility is predicted to improve gradually from noon onwards.

Tonight’s Weather (Thursday Night):

Conditions: Cold, with variable northwesterly winds at speeds of 8 to 32 km/h. Scattered clouds and light fog may appear in some areas.

Temperatures: Minimum temperatures are expected to drop to between 8°C and 10°C.

Sea Conditions: Light to moderate waves, ranging between 1 and 4 feet.

Friday’s Weather:

Daytime: Moderate to cold, with northwesterly winds at speeds of 12 to 40 km/h, occasionally becoming active. Scattered clouds are expected.

Temperatures: Maximum temperatures will range between 18°C and 20°C.

Sea Conditions: Light to moderate waves, occasionally rising to between 2 and 6 feet.

Friday Night’s Weather:

Conditions: Cold to very cold, with northwesterly to variable winds at speeds of 8 to 30 km/h. Frost is likely in agricultural and desert areas.

Temperatures: Minimum temperatures are expected to drop further, ranging between 4°C and 6°C.

Sea Conditions: Light to moderate waves, ranging between 1 and 3 feet.
